What “best” means here
Most "best stays" lists are ad placements. This one is a checklist: the same one Wyo Stays inspects its own properties against before a guest ever walks in. A stay earns a place here by clearing it, not by paying for it.
- Published Standard
- A real inspection checklist, public, not a marketing claim. Read it.
- Licensed Brokerage
- Regulated oversight and fiduciary duty. Most short-term rental hosts in Wyoming are not licensed.
- Book Direct
- No platform fee, a local phone number, and a real trust account behind every booking.
Where the Best Stays are, today
Right now, every stay here is a Wyo Stays property in Sheridan County and the Bighorn Mountains: Sheridan, Story, Dayton, and Buffalo. As the standard proves out, this becomes the home for vetted stays across Wyoming, run by other honest operators too.
Each marker sits at the average position of that town’s stays. 10 of the 17 are in Sheridan, which is why the map counts by town instead of pinning every door.
Sheridan 10 stays
Story 3 stays
Buffalo 2 stays
Dayton 2 stays
Why licensed matters
Wyo Stays is a licensed Wyoming real estate brokerage. That means fiduciary duty, regulated oversight, and the ability to handle long-term leasing and the eventual sale of a property under one licensed counterparty. Most short-term rental co-hosts are not licensed and cannot.
